Overview:

After two classic battles in St. Louis, the NLCS shifts to San Francisco with both teams sending out veteran pitchers. Tim Hudson closed out the regular season with a rough September, as the Giants lost all five games that he appeared in. However, Hudson pitched a solid seven inning and one-third innings against the Washington Nationals in the NLDS and only gave up one run in the process. John Lackey has pitched better than Hudson as of late and he’s coming off of his own NLDS win against the Los Angeles Dodgers where he pitched seven innings of one run ball. Still, after winning Game 1 and nearly escaping St. Louis with a 2-0 lead (if not for Wong’s incredible heroics), it’s hard to bet against the Giants at home, especially if Yadier Molina is unavailable due to the strained oblique that he suffered during Game 2.
