Braves president John Schuerholz and Dale Murphy came up with a pretty great plan for Murphy’s son to propose to his girlfriend.
After hearing the legendary Braves outfielder say that his son was planning to get engaged during the family’s current trip to Spring Training, Schuerholz suggested that they stage it around a ceremonial first pitch before an exhibition game.
After throwing the first pitch to legendary MLB player Dale Murphy, Jake Murphy (Dale’s son) grabbed the microphone, dropped to a knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Arianne Ingersoll.
“It was really a nice moment,” said Dale Murphy. “We really enjoyed it.”
Jake Murphy is a 22 year old tight end at the University of Utah.
