Entering 2015, everyone knew that the Kansas City Royals were a very talented and hungry team, evident from their incredible World Series run last fall, but no one knew what was coming in the season’s opening weeks. During KC’s impressive start, they have been involved in numerous bench-clearing incidents, along with a few other feisty situations. While we can argue the Brett Lawrie situation all day, there doesn’t appear to be any debate as to whether or not Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura started the latest situation.
After White Sox outfield Adam Eaton grounded out to Ventura in the 7th inning of a 2-2 game, Ventura unleashed a pretty clear “F*** You” to Eaton instead of just throwing the ball to first base:
After the confusing expletive, everything exploded and while a decent sized scuffle broke out, it mostly featured a ton of missed punches and stumbling players, including Edinson Volquez who might need Tommy John surgery after his forceful whiff on Jeff Samardzija:
