A lot of sports fans may remember Samardzija for being Brady Quinn’s favorite target at Notre Dame way back in . Now? He’s the Chicago Cubs best pitcher. By a long shot. With Matt Garza shelved (and perhaps on his way out), Samardzija takes the reins as the new ace of this staff, as he has already been named the Cubs Opening Day starter. After his first full year as a starter, Samardzija looks to follow up a solid 2012 campaign where he went 9-13 with a 3.81 ERA. Not bad for a Cub if you ask me. With a better supporting cast in 2013, expect the numbers of wins to increase, and losses decrease. A solid option to draft in rounds 8-12.
