6. Expansion Talk, Instead Of Relocation Speak:
Now that the Coyotes and Islanders have sorted out their arena issues, the talk of relocation can finally fade away until we decide it is time for the Panthers to move. Until then, expect plenty of expansion talk. Why?
Well for one, the NHL’s conferences are currently uneven. The West has 14 teams and the East has 16 members. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this probably means the NHL is looking to add two more teams.
The sexy choices are Seattle and Las Vegas, but Quebec City, Kansas City, and Portland could possibly have NHL Hockey at some point in the not-so-distant future.
