Real Estate have released an early candidate for video of the year with their video for “Crime.” With the help of director Tom Scharpling and Andy Daly (Principal Cutler from “Eastbound and Down”), the group find out that crowd funded music videos may be cheap but they may also have some downsides too.
Since Daly is a broke music video “auteur” he has to auction off the rights of the video to three very interesting people. The video has got it all, “undead extreme sports enthusiasts,” tributes to yesteryear, ceramics, and the proper amount of Real Estate’s Atlast being used as product placement. When its all said and done, the video includes some great cameos from Nick Kroll, the Thai Palace, and even the “Westboro Baptist Church.”
