For Christmas I bought a couple pairs of Beats By Dr. Dre Studio Headphones. A pair for me and a pair for my brother. I was planning to write a review for the headphones but I can’t—here’s why. I finally had a chance to take them for a test drive last night. I put in the batteries for some noise-cancelling goodness, plugged in the headphone cable, and hit play on Kush. Everything was fine until I adjusted the headphones on my head. SNAP CRACKLE POP! I blew a damn eardrum. Anytime I touch the right side of the headset with noise-cancelling turned on, it sounds like Dr. Dre is letting shots ring out. That and static. I immediately sent Monster an email last night letting them know the issue and asked them how I can get a working pair—and quick. I know audiophiles out there will bash my purchasing decision for being too expensive compared to the value yada yada yada, but I don’t really care. I bought the Beats because they’re good headphones and a status symbol. I’m man enough to admit it. On a side note I will say that Monster cables are a ripoff, a marketing scheme, and you should never buy them. Hopefully Monster will handle the situation professionally and send me a working pair pronto. I will keep you guys updated and hopefully once the situation is remedied give you a proper review.
