Like most 20-something year old girl’s, my girlfriend LOVES Beyonce. So I’ve heard Yonce’s “XO” quite a lot since she dropped her surprise album in December. Every time I heard it I thought “hmmm that’d be a cool song for someone to cover on acoustic guitar.” Next thing you know, John Mayer reads my mind and covers it at a live show.
Now Mayer has returned with a studio version of “XO” that are reminiscent of his early stripped down acoustic days. Mayer was announced yesterday as a headliner at LA’s first Made In America Festival, hopefully he performs his amazing Queen Bey cover this Summer in Grand Park.
