We here at Next Impulse are ecstatic about the season 9 premiere of one of the funniest shows on television, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, airing on FX tonight. A long standing story line throughout the duration of the show, has been Mac’s (one of the main characters) “man crush” on Chase Utley, who is the 2nd baseman of the Philadelphia Phillies. In one episode during season 5 in 2009, Mac wrote a letter to Chase, professing his affinity for the MLB’er, along with his desire to meet him and play a game of catch with the All-Star. Here is an excerpt from that episode:
Well, four years later, Chase Utley has got around to responding to Mac. This response video was released yesterday, with Utley reaching out to the Always Sunny character. You have to love Chase’s ability to keep some humor floating around what has been a thoroughly disappointing season for the Phillies and their fans.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia airs tonight at 10pm ET on FX.
