Former college basketball head coach and ESPN analyst Rick Majerus passed away Saturday at the age of 64. Majerus was considered one of the great minds in college basketball and is best known for a 15-year run as head coach of the University of Utah, where he lead the Utes to the 1998 National Championship game. Majerus battled health problems throughout his career, which led to the end of his Utah tenure and an aborted attempt coaching at the University of Southern California. Majerus returned to coaching in 2007 at Saint Louis University, but earlier this year announced he’d be taking the 2012-13 season off to focus on his health.
