On Saturday, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love signed a new contract with the team that made him the highest-paid player in the entire league despite just one season as a starting quarterback in the league. And it sounds like former Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers is happy for him.
Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love were teammates with the Green Bay Packers for the first three years of Love’s NFL career as Rodgers served as the team’s starter with Love as his backup. After Rodgers signed with the New York Jets ahead of last season, Love became the starter for the Packers and blossomed into a star, earning a massive contract.
During an appearance on NFL Network as part of “Back Together Weekend,” Rodgers made it clear that he was quite happy for Love.
“I want to give a shoutout to Jordan Love becoming the highest paid player in the NFL,” Rodgers said according to USA Today. “J-Love, don’t spend it all in one place. But if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay up for sale.”
Love obviously had big shoes to fill in Green Bay as he took over for Rodgers, but it seems like he’s done it admirably.
