A few months ago, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a pretty shocking declaration when he revealed that he was considering New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his running mate. As it turns out, Rodgers was equally shocked to hear that – and it sounds like he at least considered accepting the role.
During a recent interview with far-right news personality Tucker Carlson, Aaron Rodgers revealed his reaction to hearing the news from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“Are you serious?” Rodgers told Carlson according to Yahoo.com. “I’m a [freaking] football player.”
Rodgers also admitted that he did consider accepting the nomination and hinted at a potential political career after football, saying that he would “love to be a part of bringing [America] back to what she used to be.”
“I definitely thought about it because I love Bobby, and I just wanted to hear what he had to say about it,” Rodgers said.
Obviously, Rodgers will not be running for vice president and will instead be returning to play quarterback for the New York Jets again this season. But based on these comments about a possible political career, it sounds like he might consider a possible run at the 2028 presidential election.
