Transgender golfer Hailey Davidson made some headlines last month when she won the NXXT Women’s Classic in Florida, taking a big step toward potentially earning a spot on the LPGA Tour in the future. But despite the big win, it sounds like she’s now concerned with her future.
This week, Hailey Davidson took to social media to express her concern that she might not be able to compete “anywhere” by the end of the year, citing a “gut feeling” about the backlash surrounding transgender athletes.
“I am not sure why but I get this feeling I won’t be allowed to compete anywhere by the end of this year… Nothing has been said by anyone as an FYI, this is solely something I just have a gut feeling will occur,” Davidson said in a post on her Instagram story this week.
Davidson has faced heavy criticism following her win at the NXXT Women’s Classic and has even dealt with some death threats and social media harassment from those who don’t think that she should be allowed to compete alongside other women.
We’ll have to see whether or not Davidson’s ominous prediction turns out to be true by the end of the year.
