Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker is all about having a fresh pair of kicks. So much so, in fact, that the 33-year-old estimates dropping roughly $200,000 on shoes alone over the past year. For Tucker, it’s all about having the greatest basketball shoes of all time and making a big impression.
In an interview with Complex’s Matt Welty, he was pushed on how much he’s spent on sneakers over the last year.
So how much?
I didn’t even look at the number this year. I’ll have to look at it during the summer.
If you had to make a rough estimate. $50,000? $100,000?
Probably close to $200K.
If that seems like a lot of money, it’s because it is. But, Tucker isn’t exactly short on cash.
Tucker’s made millions over his NBA career and signed a four-year deal with Houston worth $32 million in 2017. Spending 200K on shoes is just a blip of Tucker’s future earnings. Plus, expensive kicks will hold value and sometimes skyrocket in value. Think of it as an investment.
Tucker loves shoes and spends a lot on his collection. Good for him.
