All of the greats at some point in time have had to hang up their jersey. No one can play the game their entire life.

Apparently, this is also true of mascots as well. The University of Washington has announced that it’s live mascot, Dubs, is retiring from being a mascot. The dog is retiring after nearly ten years on the field.

The Huskies shared the announcement via Twitter.

It is a shame to see an all-time great go but at least the dog was able to leave when the time was right for him.

Proud to be part of this Dawg’s pack. See you tonight. Beat OSU! #GoDawgs

What a legacy this pup leaves. There aren’t many live mascots out there anymore, but this is one that can be remembered fondly. It is good to see that the dog will live its remaining years out comfortably.
