When your work demands entirely too much of you, step back and just dance. Then quit. Marina Shifrin worked at Next Media Animation, the Taiwanese animator that makes all those bizarre and over-the-top videos of popular current events. Apparently it takes a lot of effort to continually pump out those animations. It means hard workers such as Shifrin would have to stay at work until 4:30 AM. Well on Saturday Shifrin had hit her breaking point with being overworked, so she quit. But she didn’t just give a letter of resignation, she danced. She uploaded this video of her resignation where she dances to Kanye West’s track “Gone.”
The video details the unfriendly working conditions she was subject to:
“For almost two years I’ve sacrificed my relationships, time and energy for this job. And my boss only cares about quantity and how many views each video gets. So I figured I’d make ONE video of my own.”
Congratulations Marina Shifrin on your new found freedom and for standing up for hard-working saps everywhere who are tired of being taken advantage of by their employers. Now I wonder if NMA will make a funny video of them getting smashed by Marina.
