Between the third and fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers, Heath Kufahl hit the biggest shot of his life.
Kufahl, the volleyball and boys basketball coach at Christian Heritage Academy in Del City, Okla., nailed a half-court shot to win a much needed $20,000.
While it is always fun to see somebody hit a half-court shot, there wasn’t a better person in Chesapeake Energy Arena to take that shot last night. Along with having the responsibility of raising seven children, the Kufahl’s are facing another difficult challenge as Heath’s wife, Jenni, was diagnosed with Stage three colon cancer in October of last year.
The $20,000 couldn’t have come at a better time for the Kufahl’s, and Heath said that they will use the money to pay for Jenni’s medical bills as she fights off her cancer.
