Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is already on the trajectory to be one of the best players in WNBA history. Unfortunately, the Fever aren’t having the sort of season fans expected heading into the season.
A loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday afternoon dropped the Fever to 6-7 on the season. As if sliding in the standings weren’t enough for Clark to deal with, now there’s a chance that one of this year’s rookies is passing her as the best young player in the league.
“Paige Bueckers is the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 200 PTS & 50 AST,” reported Polymarket Hoops.
Fans reacted to the news of the Dallas Wings standout potentially passing Clark on social media.
“Congratulations Paige, thanks for making the WNBA a little better. Great season so far , please stay healthy in a semi-violent league of jealousy and hate,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“when you watch her play, her opponents dont hang onto her like they are wet tee shirts so she should be able to shoot lot of points where as caitlin opponents hang on her like wet dirty t shirts stuck to her skin. hard to shoot a lot of points that way,” one fan added.
“The WNBA needs to quit with these useless stats, it makes them appear less legit as a sports league. Every time someone scores, rebounds, steal or assist it’s some stupid record. That includes Clark,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Clark or Bueckers has the more accomplished career when it’s all said and done.
