Typically, when a sports team celebrates a championship at the White House, they celebrate with the sitting President and the First Lady. So when the Las Vegas Aces visited the White House to celebrate their WNBA title, they expected to be greeted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. But that’s not what happened.
Instead, the Aces were hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff as Joe Biden decided to extend his vacation instead of coming back to D.C. to host the Aces.
“When they initially announced this event, it said the president and the first lady were going to host the Aces today,” Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy said Friday, according to The New York Post.
“But then, they extended their vacation. They were supposed to get back yesterday, now they don’t get back until tomorrow. So that is how you wind up getting feted at the White House by the vice president instead of by the president.
“We don’t know what he’s doing today, but his motorcade is on the move somewhere in the South Lake Tahoe area.”
People were not exactly happy with the disrespect Biden showed the Aces.
