Angel Reese Syndication: The Indianapolis Star

Caitlin Clark is arguably the biggest name in North American sports at the moment.

The young guard led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade and acquired a heap of awards while doing so. She earned WNBA first-team honors, the WNBA Kia Rookie of the Year award, and was even named an all-star in her first season.

Now while speaking to a public forum, Clark has given fans insight into her mindset, and in doing so she has put the rest of the WNBA on notice.

“I don’t want anyone to be better than me,” Clark said unapologetically.

Fans reacted to the bold statement on social media.

“No one was better than Caitlin in college basketball history, and she is on the WNBA GOAT track after a historic rookie season!” one fan said on Twitter.

“Sounds vaguely like a certain #23 who was a once in a lifetime transcendent player (that is until now),” one fan added.

“A lot of the greats have that same drive far beyond anything us mere mortals can comprehend. Legend has it that Kobe once lost a game of HORSE to a ball boy and was upset at everybody the rest of the day,” a fan added.

“She’s not wrong though, everyone should thrive to be the best of the best. love her honesty,” chimed in one fan.

“She is THE most interesting athlete alive today,” one fan said.

“Very Larry Bird like in the way she thinks…. I like it,” one fan said.

It’ll be interesting to see how Clark puts the WNBA on notice in her second season.
