Caitlin Clark sends clear message to media

"Ask Aliyah a question."

Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston took the podium for a postgame press conference following the Indiana Fever’s 89-77 victory over the Seattle Storm on Thursday night.

But after the first five questions were directed at Clark, the star rookie guard directed the media to also ask questions to Boston.

“Ask Aliyah a question,” Clark said, motioning toward her teammate.

“I’m good,” Boston said, seemingly disinterested in participating in the press conference.

“Ask Aliyah a question,” Clark repeated.

The exchange can be seen here.

Just last week, Boston interrupted one of Clark’s answers during another postgame press conference to praise the former Iowa star’s passing ability. While some have speculated that Clark’s teammates resent her due to her star power and even her race, that clearly doesn’t seem to be the case when it comes to her relationship with Boston, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year.

As for the Fever, Thursday’s loss dropped their record on the season to 7-12. Through the first 19 games of her rookie season, Clark has averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds, while Boston has averaged 12.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists during the former South Carolina star’s sophomore campaign.

Having now lost two straight games, the Fever will return to action on Sunday when they face the Phoenix Mercury.
