Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark took the WNBA by storm in her first season. Clark finished the season with an impressive stat line of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Clark set records from seemingly the moment she entered the league. She broke the WNBA’s single-season assist record and became the first rookie in league history to ever record a triple-double, a feat she pulled off twice.
Clark’s accolades culminated in her winning WNBA Rookie of the Year, but she didn’t only enjoy individual success. The flamethrower led the Fever back to the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.
Clark reflected on her first season as a professional on social media Wednesday night.
“Year one (…) thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

It’s good to see that Clark can reflect positively on what was a roller coaster of a season for her. Despite her on-court prowess, Clark was subject to not only praise but also hate and tremendous scrutiny.
It looks like the intense coverage around her didn’t impact her in the slightest.
It’ll be fun to see what she’s able to accomplish in the years to come as she enters her prime.
