Caitlin Clark turned up the intensity for the playoffs.
The Indiana Fever’s rookie phenom wasn’t just getting into it on the court, she even had a spat with a fan in the stands during the second game of the Fever’s first-round series against the Connecticut Sun. The fan was sitting courtside at the game, and that was just a little too close for Clark.
Clark and the appeared to have a verbal back and forth. Afterward, the fan got out of his seat and talked with security before security escorted the fan from the floor.

It seems Clark pointed to fan out to a referee to have him removed.

Clark has a lot of support across the country and is usually good-natured with trash talk, but Wednesday was a playoff game and she couldn’t afford to deal with unnecessary distractions. With Wednesday’s contest being so high stakes, it’s not shocking that both fans and Clark would be on edge, but there’s a chance the fan simply took things too far.
In the end, the rowdy fan got the last laugh. Although the Fever got off to a hot start, the Sun responded strongly to win the game 87-81.
Clark now has her first full offseason in over a year after starting her rookie campaign in the WNBA nearly immediately after her college career came to a close.
It’ll be interesting to see how Clark can develop and expand her game heading into year two.
