Throughout her college basketball career, women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark became known for her three-point shooting as she often took and made extremely deep shots from beyond the arc. But in a pretty shocking twist, it sounds like her new head coach wants her to work on a different part of her game: long two-point shots.

During a recent press conference, Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides said that she wants to get Caitlin Clark more comfortable with taking long two-point shots instead of always looking for a three-point shot as she’s become used to throughout her career.

“I think she’s used to some shots that she’s taken in the last few years that are just those deep shots,” Sides said according to Marca.com. “There’s times she comes off ball screens where she’s open in that long 2 area, and we’ve got to get her comfortable taking that long 2.”

Obviously, this would be a pretty significant change in Clark’s game as she has become known for her ability to create and hit deep shots from beyond the arc. We’ll have to see if this is a change Clark is willing to make. If so, it will be interesting to see her incorporate it into her game.
