Angel Reese Syndication: The Indianapolis Star

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has set the WNBA on fire since she entered the league.

Reese made an immediate impact upon entering the league, going on to break the single-season rebound record and the record for most consecutive double-doubles in league history as a rookie. Unfortunately, Reese went down with a season-ending wrist injury, and her rebound record was subsequently broken by three-time MVP A’Ja Wilson.

Reese is still rehabbing the injury, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t enjoying herself.

Reese, who is from Baltimore, was recently spotted at a Baltimore Ravens game, where Baltimore Ravens star cornerback Marlon Humphrey told her she was the reason he started watching women’s basketball.

Reese has also been keeping fans entertained with her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, which is produced in partnership with her fellow LSU alum and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

O’Neal and Reese were on a basketball court together ahead of the release of one of her latest episodes, and Reese challenged the four-time NBA champion to a shocking bet.

Reese bet O’Neal $100,00 that he couldn’t make a free throw. Naturally, O’Neal drained the shot on the first try which led to a funny response from Reese: “I guess I owe him 100K,” she wrote on her Instagram story over a video of ONeal hitting the shot.

According to Sporting News, Reese’s rookie salary is only $73,439, meaning her bet with O’Neal would be over an entire year’s worth of pay.

Luckily, O’Neal is a mentor figure for Reese, and probably won’t make her pay the $100,000. Still, Reese will have to be careful in the future, as other people might not be lenient when she loses a bet.
