While Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has been getting most of the headlines around the league, her longtime rival Angel Reese is having a historic rookie season in the WNBA as she just set a new WNBA record.
On Sunday afternoon, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese finished the game with 10 points and 16 rebounds in the 70-62 loss to the Minnesota Lynx. The double-double officially gave her the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles in league history.
“PUT HER IN THE HISTORY BOOKS. Angel Reese becomes the first player in WNBA history to put up 10 consecutive double-doubles in a single szn. She passes Candace Parker (9 in 2015),” the WNBA said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Reese has been absolutely dominant lately, and she has not exactly been shy about speaking about that dominance.
“I’m a dog, you can’t teach that,” she told ESPN’s Holly Rowe after a win over the Indiana Fever earlier this month. “I’m going to go out and do whatever it takes to win every single night. My teammates rely on my energy. So being able to continue that energy even if we’re down, even if we’re up, that’s what I do.”
Clearly, she is adapting well to the WNBA game.
