Brittney Griner has hops. We know this.
So, it’s not surprising to learn that Griner became the first player to ever dunk the ball in a WNBA playoff game on Sunday.
Griner also scored a playoff career-high 21 points and her team, the Phoenix Mercury, won the game and will be advancing to the Western Conference Finals. In other words, a lot went right for Griner and the Mercury.
Griner now has five professional dunks to her name which is ridiculous when one considers that there are eleven recorded dunks in WNBA history. Yes, in two years of professional ball, Brittney Griner already has nearly half of the WNBA’s slam dunks.
“That’s what I do,” Griner joked. “I dunk.”
