The Women’s World Cup quarterfinal match today between Brazil and the USA was one of the best sporting events I’ve ever seen. Any sport. Any gender. In typical world cup ref fashion, the refs were absolutely terrible and had the fix on the red, white and blue, but the US women’s team just kept grinding deep into the extra minutes and then eventually won the match on penalty kicks.
