Americans who were hoping to buy tickets for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro on Tuesday morning were unable to do so thanks to “an unforeseen technical issue” that CoSport found during its last round of testing.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the tickets that were supposed to go up for sale on Tuesday included the left over tickets from the initial round of purchases.
CoSport states that they can’t provide a new sales time for the tickets:
No alternative date/time for the next Individual Ticket sales phase has been decided though we will of course share our plans as soon as possible here on the CoSport website as well as via email.
According to the Australian, while 7.5 million tickets will be made for the 2016 Olympics, only 2.25 million will be available for sale internationally.
