Backcountry skiing is one the most incredible but dangerous sports in the world and we’ve seen countless terrifying accidents when extreme sport going wrong. There was almost another unfortunate accident added to that list after one skier plunged into a crevasse while skiing Strahlhorn in Switzerland on May 24th.
The mountain, located about 10 miles east of the ski town Zermatt has a peak of nearly 14,000 feet and appears to offer some insane views, that is until you’ve been swallowed into a desolate and deadly crevasse:
