The 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships got underway in Canada today, and things didn’t go so well for Team USA right out of the gate. Just over a minute into their opening game against Finland, the Americans allowed a goal from behind their own net.
A miscommunication between goaltender Thatcher Demko and Noah Hanifin led to a giveaway to Finland’s Mikko Rantanen, who managed to bank the puck in past Demko for the early 1-0 lead.
