World No. 2 Novak Djokovic has a match with Australian teen sensation Bernard Tomic looming at Wimbledon but he’s facing an even tougher challenge first. Djokovic is trying to convince the All-England Club to let his poodle Pierre join Novak at Wimbledon.
The Wimbledon dog ban is seriously upsetting Djokovic according to one member of his support team:
He is upset he can’t bring Pierre to Wimbledon and he is pleading with the authorities to let the dog in. Whenever he can he takes the dog with him. he is genuinely upset. For him this is a very serious issue.
So far Pierre has remained politically correct on his twitter feed but he did drop this ominous comment on June 23rd:
A #wimbledog has got to do what a wimbledog’s got to do…
Sounds like a threat to me.
Will the Wimbledon brass relent? Will Djokovic be able to shake off the lack of his best friend and find a way to win? Only time will tell.
