Vice Sports got the opportunity to meet up with Dallas Seavey, a three-time Iditarod champion and one of the world’s best dog sled racers in order to document how he trains his canine athletes for competitions.
Seavey is a third-generation musher and the youngest Iditarod champion ever, so he obviously has a wealth of experience when it comes to racing and taking care of a team of adorable but thoroughly trained canine athletes.
Endearingly, what stands out from the clip is how Seavey has to judge the morale of his team of dogs and ensure that every dog has its head on straight for the competition, which doesn’t sound that different from the job of any other sports’ team captain.
Also, racing dogs are adorable. That is all.
