Before you freak out about this headline, yes, Labatt Brewing Company is the largest beer brewer in Canada, but Labatt USA is an independent subsidiary that operates under the North American Breweries of Rochester, New York. The former has been a big-time supporter of Hockey Canada over the years, while latter has been a USA Hockey corporate sponsor since 2003.
It was reported this week that Labatt USA and USA Hockey have extended their sponsorship deal for another four years, and the beer company is rolling out some fancy new cans to celebrate. The four new designs feature goalie masks from American Olympians over the years – including Jim Craig, Rick DiPetro and Ryan Miller – and a generic Labatt Blue/USA Hockey mask design in honor of the renewed partnership.
This isn’t the first time that the company has celebrated USA Hockey’s Olympic history with some awesome cans, as they rolled out these beauties prior to the Sochi Olympics last winter.
The new promotional cans can be found inside specially marked cases of Labatt Blue through March, so collect them all while you can.
