This really is the most frightening that can happen during a baseball game. A pitcher throwing a 90 plus mph rising fastball and it nails the batter in the head. If it had been a couple inches lower, some real damage could have been done. Jose Bautista will be thanking his helmet tonight as he fights off the headache that he apparently doesn’t have.
When asked about the incident after the game, Bautista the trooper said:
“I’m not hurt, my head doesn’t hurt, I’m not dizzy. I feel perfectly fine.”
J.J. Hardy homered twice, Derrek Lee and Nolan Reimold also hit one and the Orioles crushed the Blue Jays 12-4.
