J.R. Hildebrand crashed while leading on final lap of Indy 500 giving Dan Wheldon the win on the 100th anniversary of the storied race in Indianapolis. Only Indy can provide a finish like this, rookie J.R. Hildebrand looked like the winner of the race, until the final corner when he smacked into the wall. He kept his foot on the gas to make it across the line, but Dan Wheldon was there and took the win.
J.R. is a rookie, and unfortunately and appropriately made a rookie mistake costing him the race. The video is below:
