The WSL has had a rough start to the season by having to run two contests already in sub-par surf, but that has definitely been forgotten.
The Drug Aware Margaret River Pro kicked off yesterday in heaving surf and there was carnage everywhere. Most of the wipeouts came from the first half of the round which was run at ‘the box,’ as it resembled shipsterns for most of the morning. When the contest switched over to Margaret River’s main break the waves were pumping, but the surfers were able to navigate the face of the big left a little more predictably.
