Mama, there go that man again…his on air repoire with Jeff Van Gundy makes the NBA fun to watch. His catch phrases are used in water coolers across the country throughout the work week. Now former NBA point guard and NYC high school hoops legend Mark Jackson is picking up a clip board as new coach for the ever struggling Golden State Warriors.

From Warriors owner Joe Lacob:

“He epitomized leadership as a player in this league for 17 seasons and we think that characteristic – and many other positive traits – will translate very well into his coaching duties with our young team,”

“He was a leader and a winner both on and off the floor in this league and we’re convinced that he is the right person to guide this team into the future and help us achieve the success that we are striving for as an organization.”

This is the 46 year old Jackson’s first coaching job in the NBA but he’s had fantastic role models in his 17 year NBA career having played for Lou Carnesecca, Lenny Wilkens, Jerry Sloan, Pat Riley and Larry Brown, among others.
