Lauren Davis didn’t have the best of luck when she took on France’s Alize Cornet at the Sony Open this week. Following the second set of her match against France’s Alize Cornet at the Sony Open, Lauren was stung by a wasp directly on her rear end and it looked like it hurt. You can tell from the pictures that it was’t exactly a pleasant experience. To make matters worse she actually cut her thigh with her finger-nail right after the sting happened.
Both players engaged in a grueling 2.5 hour match in very high Florida heat and humidity, and following Cornet’s win both ladies had to leave the court in wheel chairs due to exhaustion. Lauren refused to blame her loss on the wasp sting, which we are sure the wasp appreciated.
