Derek Lowe joins the long list of athletes with DUI’s as he was pulled over and charged with drunken drivin last night in Atlanta by the Georgia State Police.
State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says a trooper stopped the 37-year-old Lowe’s vehicle about 10 p.m. Thursday on an Atlanta street. During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and administered a field sobriety test and Lowe was arrested.
Wright says Lowe declined to take a breath test on the spot and was promptly charged with DUI, reckless driving and failing to maintain lane. He was released this morning.
A CBS Atlanta cameraman asked Lowe if he had anything to say to the Braves after leaving an Atlanta jail, and Lowe quickly responded, “No.”
