If you’re like me then you don’t spend a lot of time watching college women’s volleyball. Mistake.
Not one but two current NCAA volleyball players have won their respective state titles to advance to the Miss USA beauty pageant. The pair, Kelsey Moore (UTEP) and Alaina Bergsma (Oregon), grew up together in Chandler, Arizona and make a strong case for a lot more airtime.
First, Moore was named Miss Texas in 2009:
And last week, inspired by Moore, Bergsma was named Miss Oregon:
Make no mistake, both are also legit volleyball players. You can see Bergsma in action below:
Apparently the same qualities that make for a good volleyball player (height, athleticism, blondness) work well on the runway. Consider yourself informed.
