Denver Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with first-degree criminal trespassing reports Nicki Jhabvala of the Athletic.

The Broncos released a statement expressing disappointment in Kelly.
Statement from the Broncos: “We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning. Our organization has been in contact with Chad, and we are in the process of gathering more information.”

Kelly appeared in court at 9:30 AM according to Jhabvala’s reporting.
While it’s never good to get arrested, the timing couldn’t be worst for the Broncos. Prize offseason acquisition Case Keenum has struggled thus far in 2018. It appears inevitable the organization would eventually turn to the 24-year-old Kelly, who’s appeared in just one game (a rushing attempt) thus far.
It’s not the first time Kelly has been arrested. Back when he played for Ole Miss in 2014, he was arrested for an altercation outside a nightclub. Criminal charges were eventually dropped as Kelly plead guilty to disorderly conduct instead.
We’ll update the situation and Kelly’s status going forward when more information is available. As for now, the Broncos QB situation somehow became more unclear.
