President Obama took some time Saturday to head to Towson, Maryland and watch his brother in law, Craig Robinson, coach the Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball team against Towson. Obama was joined in the crowd by actor Bill Murray whose son Luke is an assistant coach for Towson. The entire Obama family was on hand with Michelle, Sasha and Melia also in the stands.
With the first family having been regular attendees of games the Beavers have had to get used to the resulting distraction as Jared Cunningham explained:
This is my third time doing [playing in front of the president]. It’s always a great feeling to have the President come and watch the game. The other team is always going to play their hardest because it’s on their home court. We did a good job tonight. I’m proud of the team for fighting hard and we got the win.
The Beavers visited the White House on Friday where the team met Obama up close.
Looks like the first basketball fan will keep getting his hoops fix wherever he can.
