Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has decided that he will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season after a career-best season with the team last year. And as he returns to Tampa Bay, it’s clear that he has one goal in mind: more success in the postseason.
Shortly after news broke of the contract extension between Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mayfield confirmed the news himself and offered a little explanation of why he chose to return.
“I wanted a chance to come back,” Mayfied said according to a post from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN. “I love coach Bowles and the staff. I’m happy to be here and I want to win more in the postseason.”

Mayfield and the Buccaneers did taste some success in the postseason this year. Not only was the team able to make the playoffs but they actually earned a playoff victory as the team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.
It’s clear that Mayfield now has aspirations of leading the Buccaneers on a deeper playoff run over the next few years with the team. We’ll have to see whether or not he can make that happen.
