In the co-main event of UFC 302 on Saturday night, former UFC middleweight Sean Strickland was able to come away with a big victory over Paulo Costa. And moments after in his post-fight interview, Strickland wasted no time in praising former U.S. President Donald Trump, who was in attendance for the event.

Trump came out to watch the main card, otherwise known as the final five fights, of the event. This means that he was cage side to see Strickland largely cruise to a dominant victory over Costa to help keep him near the top of the contenders’ list in the middleweight division.

In his post-fight interview after his win, Strickland had two things on his mind. Calling for the UFC to give Strickland a rematch against current UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis. And to make it publically known that he believes that Trump’s recent conviction in his hush-money trial this week was a “d*mn travesty”

“President Trump, you are the man bro,” said Strickland. It is a d*mn travesty what they are doing to you. I’ll be donating to you, my man. Let’s get it done.”

Trump was quite happy to hear this of course, offering a smile towards Strickland as he finished his interview with longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

But things didn’t stop there. As Strickland was walking out of the cage, he went up and shook Trump’s hand, even getting a picture with the 2024 presidential hopeful.

Given all of the controversy that Trump is going through at the moment, it is certainly a welcome sight for Trump to get an endorsement from one of the more popular figures in all of MMA in Sean Strickland.
