Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev

On Monday, United States tennis superstar Taylor Fritz pulled off an upset come-from-behind win over Alexander Zverev of Germany in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon to punch his ticket to the quarterfinal. But after the match, he was involved in quite an awkward encounter.

Taylor Fritz pulled off the comeback victory after being down two sets to the German superstar, but he was able to win the next three sets to claim the victory and advance in the prestigious tournament.

After the conclusion of the match, the two tennis superstars met at the net for their customary handshake, but it seemed to take a little longer than usual as Zverev clearly had something to say to Fritz.

During an interview after the match, Fritz revealed that Zverev was not happy that members of Fritz’s team were cheering for Fritz when Zverev got hurt.

“I think he was a little upset about I guess my team members cheering for me when he was injured but he said, it’s nothing you do with you, you’re all good,” Fritz said. “Whatever, it’s all good.”

Clearly, Zverev was frustrated, but it doesn’t sound like he is placing any of the blame on Fritz personally.
