The daily deal industry is saturated as hell. Copycats are everywhere. The ones that dominate are those that have the greatest consumer reach: Groupon, LivingSocial, and now Facebook Deals and Google Offers. I’ve purchased a handful of these deals in the past for fun and never used one of them. I personally believe Groupon should have sold to Google ages ago. I can’t deny that these services occasionally provide value to the businesses they partner with, but for the most part all they’re doing is shifting existing supply to competing businesses who are unable to maintain the purchaser as a longterm customer.
