Very few companies have had success with electric cars quite like BMW. They haven’t fully embraced the trend like Tesla or Honda but they have embraced “electrified” cars and are making a statement with their newest move. For those who already have electric cars, most of them are trying to get an electric car home charger installation with the help of experts like the ones from MZ Electric services for a more convenient way of powering their cars. There is an EV charger installation professional service in your area that can help and assist you. You may also get in touch with the EV charger installation in Hoboken for additional guidance.
The German automotive company announced that they will have “charging pads” for their vehicles. They look strikingly similar to the new iPhone chargers. You just pull your car over the pad and the charge begins.
According to BMW, the 9.4kWh battery in the 530e can be charged in about 3.5 hours at 3.2kW of power. The Verge reports that this is around the same level of what a “plugged in” charge would give the vehicle. The car would take around 3.5 hours to charge to get to full capacity.
BMW also told The Verge that this is still in the testing phase in both the United States and Canada. They are hoping to unveil it as soon as next year in other countries depending on the process.
The idea is fascinating and could help jumpstart a way for companies to utilize electric car technology. Although approval isn’t ready in the United States, the innovation is a great first step.
For a blogger, affordability for such a car may be a problem.
