In 2000, Honda introduced ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility). It was cool but also a bit too awkward to frighten the human race. It was the start. Last November, they released a new version six years in the making and today it made Reddit’s front page and into @buddhafari‘s consciousness. ASIMO can recognize the presence and voice of multiple other moving beings, pour cocktails, run 9 km/hr, and gather sensory information to behave even more autonomously.
