In 2003, while surfing with friends, one of whom was surfing sensation Alana Blanchard, Bethany Hamilton was attacked by a 14 foot tiger shark. 13 yr old Hamilton lost her arm and 60% of her blood in the attack and endured multiple surgeries as its result. Within a month she was back in the water continuing her training to achieve her goal of becoming a pro surfer. Her made her dream a reality in 2007. Hamilton’s determination and perseverance is an inspiration!
